Prizegiving Monday 11 December

Kia ora Parents and Caregivers,

As you are hopefully aware we will be holding our end of year Prizegiving on:

Monday 11th December starting at 1:00pm
Venue:  La Vida Community and Conference Centre
               34a Hansons Lane

It would be great to see many parents, grandparents and other members of the school community join us for this end of year celebration.

Students will travel by bus to La Vida for this event.  At the end of the prizegiving they will be able to travel directly home with you.

We are aware that some students will need to travel back to Emmanuel Christian School and we have bus transport arranged for this.

To enable us to plan this transport can you please complete the form below so we know if your child will require transport back to school or will be leaving with you from La Vida.

We would appreciate it if all families complete this form so we can ensure we know the plans for each student. A huge thank you to those of you who have done this already.

Transport Form: Please complete

Elmer’s Ōtautahi Elephant Trail

The Elmer’s Ōtautahi Elephant Trail has started. If you get a chance go and see Emmanuel’s elephant (At Northlands Mall) . Every student had a chance to draw something important to them about their culture, family and beliefs. In their classes, they then had the chance to explain why this was meaningful to them. These designs and stories were then brought to life by artists from the older classes. Elephants are on display from today until the 18th February 2024
A huge thank you to all the students and to Mr Dowers and Mrs van Mechgelen who made this possible.

Christmas Mufti Day

The wonderful time of Christmas is approaching and as a school, we would love to celebrate this time together.

On Tuesday 12th of December, Emmanuel Christian School students of all ages are able to come to school dressed up in Christmas attire. This could include being dressed up as a Christmas tree, Santa Claus, a Christmas elf, angels, a shiny present, simply in Christmas colours or even the Grinch! In the past, we have had a plethora of Christmas characters wandering around the passages of our school.

This will be a gold coin donation which means that your child can only dress up if they bring a gold coin. All the donations brought will go to Ronald McDonald House to help families physically, economically, and emotionally during their health care journey. A Ronald McDonald House programme helps reduce stress and financial burden for families when they must travel far from home to access medical care for their child.

This is an opportunity that has been brought about by a few of our senior students, who have a heart for helping the less fortunate. We wanted to do this so the students will be able to get into the Christmas spirit and be filled with all the joys of Christmas.

On this day we will also be reminding the students of the true meaning of Christmas so they don’t forget that our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, came down from heaven to save us all.

Many Christmas Wishes,

Nikita, Danica & Mr LJ

Christmas Carol Singing

Dear Parents and Caregivers,
We would like to invite you to come and enjoy an afternoon of carol singing with the Emmanuel School Orchestra with special items from Harakeke, Koru 1, Koru 2 and K5 and 6.

Tuesday 12th December
2.00 – 2.40 in the School Hall – ALL are welcome!

School Accounts now due

If you are owing anything on your child’s school account we would appreciate payment by the end of the school year.  This will be for things such as Athletics, Volleyball, Basketball, Netball, Chess and replacement stationery items such as exercise books.

If you are not sure what you owe or have any queries, please contact the Office.

Thank you.

Parent Handbook

The Parent Handbook contains a lot of useful information.  It has been updated for 2024 and is available to download via the link below and the school website.

Market Day Thanks

Thank you for all the support on Market Day last week.  The students raised a total of $1286.80 and all of this will be donated to Tear Fund (the students will decide which causes they want to donate to from the Gift for Life Catalogue).
