Te Wiki o te Reo Māori

Kia Ora Whānau,

Nā, tēnei te mau nei te whakapono, te tūmanako, te aroha, ēnei e toru; ko te mea nui rawa ia o ēnei ko te aroha. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love (1 Corinthians 13:13)

This week we have the chance to recognise Te Wiki o te Reo Māori (Māori Language Week).  While this week is really important in its own right, we also recognise it as a chance to move forwards as a School in normalising the use of Te Reo Māori.

Over this week we have a number of activities planned as we celebrate Te Reo Māori and encourage its use.  These include:

– Competitions and Scavenger hunts

– Phrases being encouraged in classes across the week

– Hāngi lunch

– House Haka competition (you are very welcome to come and be part of this as houses perfrom the school haka on Rāmere (Friday) afternoon at 1:30pm
