Thank you for your support in this.

Mobility Parking

Recently some families who need to use our Mobility parking spaces have found vehicles (with no permit displayed) parked in them while other parks remain vacant in the carpark.  We do have several families with Mobility Parking Permits who need to use these two parks (located outside the Office).

Please could you ensure the Mobility parking spaces are left free for the families who need to use them.

Thank you.

Attendance Dues 2024 and 2025

As you are aware the Emmanuel Proprietor Trust (EPT) charge Attendance Dues for all students attending Emmanuel Christian School.  Invoices for the 2024 year are due to be sent very soon.  The EPT use these funds to develop and maintain the buildings and land that we have the privilege of using.  These Attendance Dues are a compulsory charge.  Payment instructions will be on the invoices when these are sent.

The EPT would like to remind you that payment of Attendance Dues in full is required by the end of the school year. However, from this year the EPT will now require 50% of the invoice to be paid by the end of the second term.  They also recognise that for many families paying these charges in regular instalments across the year is much easier and would very much encourage you to consider setting these up as regular automatic payments.  If you do get to a point where paying these is proving to be difficult then please contact the EPT via the principal. While the EPT does need to collect these payments, they also want to ensure they support families in this process.

Attendance Dues for 2024 remain at the level of $1250 per student as they were in 2023 to allow families time to adjust their budgets to significant increases in the cost of living.

Unfortunately increasing costs, particularly debt interest and insurance premiums, are also impacting on the EPT and they will need to raise the Attendance Due rates from 2025 onwards.  To provide some prior notice of this they would like to let you know that from the start of 2025 the Attendance Due rate will be $1400 per student.  This is not a decision they have made easily.  Please note this change does not impact on the 2024 school year.

Call for Help – Scholastic Book Fair

This year we are hoping to run a Scholastic Book Fair.  We hope this will help to encourage the love of reading, help our students to have access to books at home and to raise funds to purchase new books for our school library.  We have run these book fairs in the past and they’ve always been very popular.

This is where we need you!

Are you willing and capable to take on the task of organising the book fair for our school?  It isn’t a small job so you will need some helpers.  We do have a contact at Scholastic who is very willing to help and guide you through the process.

Would you prayerfully consider serving our school in this way?

Please contact Melinda Kerkhoven if you have any questions or you would like to put your hand up to take on this task.
Melinda ph. 021 213 6841 or email: melinda@emmanuelchristian.school.nz

Parent Fundraising Group – can you help?

Another way you can serve our school community is to join our fundraising group.

We are a small group and are keen for the group to grow and for someone to take over the main organising from Michelle Posthuma who has been running this group for many years.

Currently we have the foil/baking paper/cling film and mini grip bag fundraiser going and there will be a sausage sizzle this term too.

We like to aim for 1-2 sausage sizzles per term and 2 bigger fundraisers (eg. Dr Bugs Popcorn, Baking Paper etc) but due to the lack of helpers we haven’t been able to run these as often as we would like.

Funds raised through our fundraising group over the past few years have gone toward: purchasing new library books, Cultural Day, EPro-8 challenge equipment, new musical instruments, repairing/refurbishing our school piano, sports team uniforms, sports equipment, kapahaka uniforms, art supplies, picnic tables, science lab equipment and boardgames for classrooms.

If this sounds like something you are interested in (either as a main organiser or to be added to the list of helpers available) please speak to Michelle Posthuma or Louise at the Office.

Board of Trustees Election Update

It is fantastic and really encouraging to have 7 really high caliber candidates for this election.  Unfortunately there are only 2 vacancies as all of our candidates have so much to offer.

Voting will remain open until the 25th March at 4pm.

Can I encourage you to read the candidate statements carefully and pray about who you should vote for?  A great way to honour these 7 candidates would be to have a really high number of you vote in this election. Voting information was sent by email on Monday 26th February

Music in 2024

We have a wonderful Music programme run by Mrs Naomi Langford here at Emmanuel Christian School.  The following notice outlines the many, various, opportunities students have to become involved in Music this year.

Please encourage your child to be involved in the Music Programme at Emmanuel! I have spoken to various  adults over the years who wished that they had been involved in Music when they were younger and couldn’t  due to financial constraints, lack of opportunity or commitment. There are many opportunities that your child can join for free at Emmanuel which will give them an experience they will remember all their lives!

Please click on the link below to read the notice from Mrs Langford and if you have any questions feel free to pop in and see her in the Music room on Monday, Tuesday or Friday or email her anytime: naomi@emmanuelchristian.school.nz

Baking Paper Fundraiser

We are running the popular Baking Paper, Catering Foil, Catering Film and Minigrip Bag fundraiser again this term.

Order forms went home earlier this week (also attached below).  These need to be returned to the Office by Tuesday 5th March along with payment.

Payment can be made by online banking to the School Account 06-0821-0208431-00 (reference Baking Paper and your name), by Eftpos or by Cash.

We will let you know when your order is ready to collect, this should be in Week 7.

Funds raised will go toward sport team uniforms (Basketball, netball etc).
Thank you for your support.
