Cross Country Friday 12 May 2023

Kia ora Parents and Caregivers,

As you are aware due to the weather today we made the decision to postpone our Cross Country event until Tomorrow (Friday 12th May)

While the forecast for tomorrow is a significant improvement on today it may well be that there is a cool wind still and that the temperature maybe cool.  Met-Service currently has the expected temperature at a cool 13-14 degrees tomorrow afternoon.

While we are planning to run this event tomorrow we have made some changes to reduce the time students are outside in the cool.  A key one is that classes will come out to cross country just in time for the event they are involved in, rather than spending time watching other year levels run.  At the end of their event they will be able to return inside to a warm environment.

Can we please note the following in planning for tomorrow:

– Students may come to school in PE uniform or dressed in house colours.

– Please ensure they are dressed appropriately for the cool conditions. (Named Jackets for example)

– If possible if they have a spare pair of shoes / socks in their bags they may change into these at the end of their event so they have dry warm feet.

Ngā mihi nui
