Behind the Screens – Parent Information Night

Thurday 16th June

7:30pm

Venue: Middle School Block

We are pleased to be able to invite parents to a presentation ‘Behind the Screens’

This is presented by ‘Attitude’ who have been working with schools and parents to support young people over the last 25 years.  This is a great chance to further your understanding of how you can support your child as they navigate the use of technology.

“How whānau can help their young people navigate the adolescent years in a rapidly changing world. If you are concerned with the impact of technology, social media, gaming and their safety online then this presentation will give you the tools and insights you need to confidently raise happy and resilient children covers four topics including screen time, gaming, social media and internet safety.”

Music at ECS

At Emmanuel starting in Harakeke, your child will learn the basic elements of Music. Over the years they will learn Recorder, Ukulele, Xylophone, Keyboard (senior option) Bucket Drumming, Cup Rhythms, Singing and Composition using computer programmes.
They will be involved in end of Term Performances, Easter and Christmas Services and Productions – gaining valuable skills in performing!
Please encourage your child to be involved in the Music Programme at Emmanuel! I have spoken to various adults over the years who wished that they had been involved in Music when they were younger and couldn’t due to financial constraints, lack of opportunity or commitment.
There are many opportunities that your child can join for free at Emmanuel which will give them an experience they will remember all their lives!

Please click on the link below to read about the different opportunities students have to join choirs, orchestra, recorder, xylophone or ukulele group, performance groups or the itinerant music lessons offered at ECS in 2022.

Any Music Inquiries: Please feel free to come in and see me in the Music Classroom if you have any questions about the school Music Programme or send me an email: naomi@emmanuelchristian.school.nz
