ECS: Head of Primary 2027 staffing update

Dear Emmanuel Christian School Community,

I am delighted to share some wonderful news with you regarding our leadership team for 2027.

Following a thorough recruitment process, Paul Jack has been appointed as our new Head of Primary, starting at the beginning of 2027 following Simone Thomas’s retirement at the end of this year.

Paul comes to us as an experienced school leader, currently serving as the Assistant Head of Primary at Middleton Grange School. Beyond his professional expertise, Paul and his family are deeply committed to their faith and are very active members of Grace Vineyard Church.

We are immensely grateful for God’s blessing throughout this process, which drew a  strong field of applicants. We are excited about the vision, leadership, and heart for Christian education that Paul will bring to our school community, and we look forward to warmly welcoming him in 2027.

As we look ahead to this new chapter, we also want to ensure we honour Simone Thomas for her incredible 25 years of service to Emmanuel Christian School.

Please join us for our Worship & Thanksgiving Evening on Wednesday, 11 November. This special gathering will be a time to give praise for God’s faithfulness and to formally farewell Simone. We strongly encourage all of our school families to join us for this milestone occasion.

Thank you for your ongoing prayers, support, and partnership as we step into this next season together.

Blessings,

Ngā mihi nui,

Alistair McKinnon
