Kia ora e te whānau,
This week’s House Dance Competition was a real celebration of community, creativity, and joy. It was wonderful to see our students working together, each house bringing its own unique rhythm, energy, and expression to their performance. Behind all the colour and movement was something deeper: a sense of belonging and the reminder that we were made to worship and celebrate life together.
The houses danced, sang and played “Your Way’s Better” by Forrest Frank. The lyrics include this phrase:
“O Lord, I need You now more than ever. Would You put my heart back together?
I searched the world ‘til my head hurt, just to find out—Your Way’s better.”
It’s a song about trust, about coming home to the One who restores and anchors us. In so many ways, that’s what our school community reflects, a place where we can be known, supported, and reminded that God’s way is always the best way.
Psalm 149 invites us to “praise His name with dancing.” This week our students did just that. Their creativity and joy became a living act of praise. A reminder that when we move in step with God’s purposes, even our celebrations become worship.
May we continue to find joy in walking His way, knowing that His way truly is better.
Ngā manaakitanga,
