ECS Update Term 2, Week 9 – Friday 27th June 2025
|
|
Kia ora Parents and Caregivers,
Welcome to the final Newsletter for Term 2.
As we enter the Term break it is my prayer that this period is one of refreshing. For those of you who are travelling, we pray for safety as you are away.
We have so much to be thankful for, remember to give thanks to God for who He is and all He has done, as the Psalmist says in Psalm 107:1
‘Oh give thanks to the Lord for He is good, for His steadfast love endures forever!’
Blessings, Ngā mihi nui, ECS Team

As you may be aware at the end of 2024, we were granted a maximum roll increase which has allowed us to enroll a larger group of students this year. This is a real blessing as we can offer Christ centered education to a larger number of Christian families.
At the start of Term 3 we have two new staff joining our Emmanuel team. Mrs. Susie Bell and Mrs. Janita Patrick. We are really excited to have these two high quality, experienced teachers join us at this time.

As the School Board looks ahead to the next three years, we are excited to begin shaping a new Strategic Plan for our school—one that reflects our shared values, aspirations, and commitment to Christ-centered education.
To ensure this plan truly represents the heart of our school community, we invite you to complete a short questionnaire. Your insights, experiences, and hopes for the future are incredibly valuable and will help guide our priorities and decisions.
This is the first stage of the Board developing the strategic plan for 2026-2028 and further updates will be provided across the remainder of the year.
Why your input matters:
- It helps us understand what’s working well and where we can grow.
- It ensures our planning reflects the needs of our students and families.
- It strengthens our shared mission to nurture faith, learning, and character.
Please take a few minutes to complete the questionnaire by Friday 4th July. Strategic Plan Questionaire
Thank you for partnering with us in this important journey. Together, we can continue to build a school that honours God and equips our students to thrive.
Blessings

Swimming Lessons Year 1 – 6
|
In the first two weeks of Term 3 the Year 1 – 6 students will have their swimming programme at the Graham Condon Recreation Centre, with the use of the swimming instructors trained in teaching water skills, safety skills and swimming.
When students arrive at school next term they will need to have their named swimming gear in a seperate bag with them. Please ensure this (and their uniform) is well named (including socks and shoes). If Year 1 – 6 students would find it easier they may wear their PE uniform for the first 2 weeks of term as this is often easier for getting changed at the pool.
Each child will need a big strong waterproof bag to store their swimming togs, towel, and comb. We recommend students wear googles and some may prefer to use a cap as well. Many parents find the zip up supermarket bags are idea for carrying wet swimming gear.
Students are travelling in class groups by bus. If students are late and miss the bus they will not be able to swim. Parents are most welcome to come watch their children make progress in their swimming lessons. The swimming timetable is below. Please note, we cannot confirm the times for Y3/4 or Y5/6 as they may be rearranged after testing on the first Monday.
9.30-9.55 – Year 5/6
10.00-10.25 – Year 5/6 and K2
10.30-10.55 – H1 and H2
11.15-11.45 – K1 and Year 3/4
11.45-12.15 – Year 3/4
For more information on what the lessons will cover please see the flyers below.
